Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
At Christ Church pre-school we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and offer a free flow approach consistent with the developmental needs of our young children who are learning from active exploration of the environment and making choices according to their own interests. Children learn through play. Learning is an all day, every day activity. We offer a wide variety of resources and activities which encourage development in the following areas:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Practitioners build on children’s home based knowledge and experiences and provide opportunities for progression, extension and challenge. Practitioners will monitor each child’s progress and achievements throughout their time at pre-school in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Observation & Development folders are completed for each child and parents are welcome to see their child’s folder at any time and are encouraged to do so. For more information on the EYFS please speak to any member of staff or take a look at the information which is out on the registration table which includes a ‘Parents Guide to the Early Years Foundation Stage’ document and photographs of how we implement the curriculum through play at Christ Church Pre-School.
